Problems Facing the Founding Fathers

The Founding Fathers had a very difficult job. The delegates knew that they had to find a way to work together and be one united nation, and they knew that they needed one leader who would represent the whole country. But how could they be sure that this leader would not get too much power?

Many of the delegates were afraid of giving a central government too much power, because they believed it would be no different than having a king.

Some of the states were very small, with not many people. Should they have the same voice in the making the laws for the country as the large states with more people?

What if the laws that were made were not good for everyone in the country? Who would decide if the laws were fair for everyone?
