The surrounding regional parks are a great place to take a field trip. In addition, the regional parks have many activities going on throughout the year. Field trips to regional parks can be led by teachers or at many regional parks rangers or docents are available to help out. Also, if you plan on going to a regional park, make sure that you get an application early for the use of a naturalist. Some regional parks require applications for fall field trips to be turned in no later than August 1st. Winter and spring field trip applications need to be turned in no later than December 1st. If you are planning a field trip to a regional park it would be worthwhile to check out the website for the regional park that you would like to visit.
