Self-Defense
and Middle School Students

Self-defense is a skill that students entering adolescence
should have. Although it may be taught outside of school, it certainly
is a subject that should be reinforced at any appropriate occasion.
Several stories in the Prentice Hall Literature series lend themselves
to to discussions about abduction and threats to personal safety.
